Dogs Trust is the UK’s leading charity working for the welfare of man’s best friend. With a commitment to ‘never put a healthy dog down’, they have a focus on finding rescue dogs a loving new home.
We have worked with the Dog's Trust for many years, raising awareness of a variety of issues including re-positioning rescue dogs as the first choice for anyone looking for canine companionship and urging the public not to buy or give dogs as presents – 'a dog is for life, not just for Christmas ®’.
We brought this slogan to life in a campaign about a little puppet dog made of cork, who arrives on Christmas Day. After lapping up attention during the Christmas festivities, the puppet dog is then unceremoniously dumped outside with the rubbish the next day where he turns into a real dog and is rescued by Dogs Trust. The 60’ TVC featured vocals by Academy Award winning songwriter Sam Smith, in a cover of the Christmas classic ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’.
